30 Jahre Texte zur Kunst

ANNIVERSARY ISSUE NO. 120, “THE FEMINIST” & ONLINE-PROJECT 30 YEARS IN 30 DAYS”

RELEASE: 1 DECEMBER 2020

Exactly 30 years after the publication of the first issue of TEXTE ZUR KUNST in November 1990, we are revisiting the status of women’s* rights today, rights that continue to be fought for and threatened, within and beyond the realm of art. The December issue, “The Feminist,” celebrates TEXTE ZUR KUNST’s 30th anniversary and thus 30 years of controversial discussions about contemporary art and culture. Feminism, according to the issue’s thesis, is a term that is as contested as it is cyclical. Feminism can only truly be talked about when the diversity of conceptions associated with it and, most importantly, the subjects who stand up for it – the feminists – are brought into focus.

Issue #120 brings together contributions from 30 internationally leading artists, critics, and cultural theorists that we will publish over 30 days, starting mid-November, via our communication channels, including Instagram, Facebook and Spotify: in the form of daily slide shows, a variety of authors will each speak on a cultural subject they consider particularly worthy of discussion at the moment – be it a book, a film, a painting, etc.

With contributions by:
Nadja Abt, Alina Astrova, Keren Cytter, Nikita Gale, Isabelle Graw, Katharina Hausladen, Taylor Le Melle, Christian Liclair, Genevieve Lipinsky de Orlov, Astrid Mania, Juliane Rebentisch, Jeanetta Rich, Amanda Schmitt, Victoria Sin, Raphaela Vogel, and many others
