FAQ for graduates and alumni

1. When is the yearly graduation exhibition?

• All fine arts graduates can show their work at the school’s exhibition at the end of each summer semester.

2. What do I need to submit when I finish the program?

• Before ending your studies at the school you must return all school property, for instance keys, chip cards, books, etc., to the respective offices. You will receive a checklist for signatures confirming that you have returned all school materials. When you return the completed checklist to the registrar’s office, you will receive your graduation documents.

3. Can I receive a partial waiver for my BAföG payments?

• Students ending the program in the top 30% of all graduates can receive a partial waiver of their BAföG payments. Every student receiving BAföG can apply for this partial waiver with the registrar’s office. Please include your BAföG number in your application. The registrar’s office will take care of organizing your application and then submit it to the Federal Office of Administration, which makes the final decision. Can only be considered by ending the program until 31.12.2012

4. Can I transfer course credits from the Städelschule to other college and university programs?

• The course credits you earn at the Städelschule and/or the semesters you have studied here can generally be transferred to other colleges and universities in Germany and in other countries. Usually these can be applied to similar courses of study. The school to which you will transfer makes the final decision about which credits to accept.
