
UNBUILT SPECULATIVE: ON THE DEATH OF THE MAGAZINE AND THE RISE OF THE BIENNALE

Joseph Grima is the editorial director of Domus, the internationally renowned magazine of contemporary architecture, design and art founded by Gio Ponti in 1928. Since 2007 he has directed of Storefront for Art and Architecture, a non-profit gallery and events space in New York City devoted to the advancement of innovative positions in art and architecture. His collaborative research projects have been presented at the Venice Biennale of Architecture, the Shenzhen/Hong Kong Biennale of Architecture/Urbanism and Milan Triennale. He is the author of Instant Asia (Skira, 2007), a critical overview of the recent work of young and emerging architecture practices across the Asian continent, and of Shift: SANAA and the New Museum (Lars Müller, 2008). He has contributed to numerous books, magazines and publications, including 10x10_3 (Phaidon, 2009), Did Someone Say Participate (MIT Press, 2008) and New Geographies (Harvard GSD), and has lectured widely in Europe, Asia and North America.
