The New Understanding

24 June, 7PM

Synopsis lecture ‘The New Understanding’

Since it became apparent that we needed to readjust to new economical and environmental situations we have had to live and work under new conditions. New understandings and awareness can connect and deal with the changes that are currently taking place in our environment; from climate change to how people currently operate socially compared to ten years ago. Education is also undergoing changes in some respects. A new form of political responsibility is re-emerging and we, as architects, have to readjust our focus. We have to be alert to and aware of current trends and changes which will determine our environment in the future to a large extent. Architects design environments. We dress the future. In order to do this we need to rethink our practices and forge a new understanding.
