Thesis Project

The thesis project is the main submission of the second year and constitutes the core of the Master thesis. It is formulated on an individual basis and worked out in continuous consultation with SAC faculty, the thesis advisor or advisory group (as specified for each specialisation). Each thesis project is meant to represent a sum total of what the student has learned and his/her personal and disciplinary specific maturation during their studies. The specific formulation of the thesis project depends on the chosen specialisation.

The thesis project must reflect the general and specific body of research and experiments that the student has undertaken. Hence, it must be based on clearly formulated contemporary problems in architecture and reflect the student’s position on these in a disciplinary specific and/or larger critical and cultural context. The thesis project must be based on ‘a hypothesis’ that is tested in the project.
