Olympic Tower

The site being in the Frankfurt city center facing Rhein Main river on one side and  having the train station below, and  being  located in  bank quarters was a difficult task to come up with the right programme. After the  research  study proving the importance of  leisure for today and future urban life, the idea of  having different sports activities indoor and outdoor all in one place stacked one on  top of  other  with other leisure activities.
The complex hybrid programme was redistributed  at site having horizontal set of sports events spread along  the site and vertical  set of sports events  organized  in zones vertically, the vertical gardens  was in interval of two sports zones from where the entry and exit to the sports events happens.
The horizontal organization of sports events (circuits) was informed by the research studies based on set of principle from  natural fibers and  bundling systems .This system was parametrically controlled to create the horizontally stretched  landscape of events. The parameters were the sports programme, walking, running jogging and cycling system.
The quest and research interest was in new geometries that arise as consequences of column deformation on the way of failure (Buckling), thus material takes a role in genesis of new structural forms. This result was used as special organizations systems for sports zones .Here the deformation was informed by the programme to achieve new structural forms, thus creating the various adapting and flexible environments throughout the vertical zoning of sports events.
The building is constructed from reinforced concrete and steel the spaces articulated with materials that render the soft and hard landscape.
