MARKET ELASTIC MIRROR

The design for a MARKET at Osthafen in the city of Frankfurt am Main was taken as a challenge to move people and architecture towards a contemporary but still very primary activity, such as the interchange of goods. The programme includes: Agriculture, Catering and Packaging, Market, Cooking School, Restaurants and a Hotel.  Market is planned to be the social and virtual environment that generates the conditions for the interchange.
According to philosopher Jacques Derrida: “The see is not an individual action, but the progression between: 1.An anticipated idea between the message, 2. the message itself, 3. what our senses capture and 4.the interpretation of all them together”. Not all at the same time but a generative process, articulated for our senses in a process of capturing the message (communication between all these elements).
The Geometry of (A) DROSTE SYSTEM (M.C. Escher) is developed as a generative grid, draw   based on mid consequential points, the result is a helicoidally progression. Translated to a 3d space, DROSTE SYSTEM generates a perspective that will unfold in relation to the Nadir point. ELASTIC MIRROR, in architecture would be understood as the way a curvature guides   the perception of the space. Due to a deviation (informed by hierarchies of function), Droste will get  a deviation in the 4th step that will generate the new ORGANIZATION SYSTEM (B) , as result of this deviation, 12 Geometrical Units will become in 12 SPATIAL AND STRVCTURAL UNITS.
